I'm more or less updating this for Jul.  So jul, if/when you read this let me know.

It is a little over one month before Daniel and I leave the states and head off to New Zealand.  We got my immigration forms in on the 4th, and so now we are just waiting for things to proceed quickly.  When we called the embassy thats going to review my application they suggested that it will take over 2 months to get it processed!! and you know me with my time obsession, I'm dying here.  But, Daniel called again just before we drove down to talk them into putting it at the top of the priority list and they said they will keep an eye out for it and try and get everything processed in time.  I'm feeling so much better.
Also big news!  Leanne called to let us know that she's found a flat for us that is literally across the street from them!! whoot whoot!  that has also taken a huge part of my anxiety off my back.  It's nothing flash, but it will do until we buy a place.  I'm packing up heaps of boxes to either get mailed or brought over.  It's a hard bit to have to go through, since I'm having to throw a lot of things away. But, slowly but surely I'm getting through everything and hopefully our crystal wedding champagne glasses won't break whatever way we manage to bring them.

I'm walking my graduation on Feb 1st.  I have to go pick up the tickets this week sometime. And my cap and gown costs over 50 buckaroos!  That's just crazy to me. They want me to show up in this gown but they don't provide it.  it's a stink system if you ask me...

I think I should go.  I have a pilates video to exercise with and some tickets to pick up. love love!

golly olly

my absence in inexcusable (unexcusable? nonexcusable?).  My deepest apologies.

since my last post.... hum. what's happened? oh right. I got married! I've also started my last semester at temple, bought my one way airplane ticket to New Zealand, began the immigration process, got another ticket to mexico to visit mi hermana (round trip), moved to a house in Mount Airy that daniel is working on.

that said. Heaps has been happening! Daniel and I are talking about what will happen when we move.  It is just so daunting for me, to move indefinitely to a country on the opposite side of the world from my family.  I've also got that scared, just getting out of college, what-the-hilly-who-am-I-going-to-do-with-myself feeling in the pit of my stomach.

It helps that Daniel's around.  But I'm going to miss my sister.

changing subjects (kind of)
who has ever tried the immigration business?  seriously, suddenly my entire life is under the microscope when I'm filling out this application.  New Zealand cares how many cigarettes you have, drinks you have, warrants for arrest you have. Geesh, you think they'd be concerned about important things, like "why, exactly, are you coming to our country?" or something like that.
At least they aren't prying 1000 buck-a-roos from my hands to immigrate like America does.  Its only just over 700.  Poor daniel, he has to pay 1000 buck-a-roos so he can not stay in america, but leave the possibility open (long story)

Speaking of school.  The semester is going well! I think.  I'll just be glad when it's over.  I'm tired of this one-foot-in-the-kiddy-pool/one-foot-in-the-grown-ups-pool business I'm doin. You don't know how embarrassing it is to have a 4 year old compare his school to yours.
"Where are you going?"
"School"
"like mine?"
"..... yeah. like yours."

oh right. D and I live with his boss and family. They have a 2 year old (Beckett) and a 4 year old (Logan).  Beckett always asks me what the logo on my Juliana theory sweatshirt is, and who the girl is on the front. Ever. single. time I wear it.  Logan likes black coffee, sushi, and sponge bob squarepants.

but back to school.  I'm doing a research project involving glen canyon dam, ed abbey, and Zuni migrations. It's apparently worth 3 credits.  I should be getting 4.
I'm also taking a multimedia class.  Check it.  http://astro.temple.edu/~bethanym/aleph
that's my "aleph that can see everything in the world all at one time"

it was hard to come up with something til i did the light switch thing.  I don't think I can really explain it, its based on a short story.
yeah.

okay I really should be going.
cheers everyone!

I'M GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW!!!!

Why don't you do right?

not tomorrow... but the next day. exciting, isn't it?

My boss just called me today, I apparently have to go in on my day off so that they can tell me I'm getting an inflation raise (they raise our pay yearly according to how much inflation has gone up). I don't really care about talking to them about inflation raises...

my end of the semester is going well. I have one more videoblog due on Monday and then I'm done with the class. One last test in linguistics, one last test in astronomy. If I were graduating on time, I'd be lethargic. but i'm not -- so, i'm not.

I tasted my wedding cake last night with mama --- oooo it's so good. Its called ebony and ivory with chocolate silk filling. so pretty!!

my brain is fried. I can't think about much. I'm goin sleep.

8 days and counting...

Well, this is not my last semester, but it sure is the least stressful.  I've unintentionally taken one of the easiest semesters in the world.  But you know, it could be easy because I actually like all the classes I'm taking. Sure, I fall asleep in astronomy all the time, but when I go back over it and realize that what I fell asleep through was actually really interesting -- that's pretty cool.  Also, in my linguistics class I have been doing really well on tests and I think I've been doing so well because I like the stuff.

it's just such a crazy thing when you are actually enjoying school.  It's rare really.  But, needless to say, I will look forward to it being over and moving on to bigger things.

I just finished my videoblog for this week, and it is the best one I've done yet.  Up until recently I've felt very limited by iMovie and now, I've gotten used to it and can actually handle it.  I think you should all check it out at cartwheels.

Today is daniel's birthday! I called and sang him happy birthday, but sadly, that's all that we currently can spare the money to do - so no flowers ;( .

I'm diggin on the whole flowers in spring thing.  but honestly, why didn't we get a full weekend of rain?  We need it to get even more pretty flowers yet hardly a drop today.  Honestly, what is this world coming to?

okay, time to write a paper thats due on thursday.  How good am I?
